The beginning of the blog..
Hello
Big thanks for supporting me on my great adventure! I am leaving these sunny shores on Friday, 14 June and setting sail to St Kilda ‘the edge of the earth’ as Ewan McGregor described it, on Sat am. JK and the modus team will be able to hand over a cheque for over £2k to Sight Concern Worcestershire, a brilliant charity.
Nerves? Yes. Looking forward to it? I think so.
One of our modus clients’ trakm8 has made a portable GPS unit which hopefully will enable us to be ‘watched’ from afar as long as we can get a signal.
Try it, share it and let anyone and everyone have a look and follow me on twitter @modusman
Massive thanks for the modus team for their support and for helping me to ‘have a go’.
James Fisher, a naturalist, wrote in 1947
‘Whatever he studies, the future observer of St Kilda will be haunted the rest of his life by the place, and tantalised by the impossibility of describing it, to those who have not seen it.’
I can’t wait to get back and tell the tale. So wish me bon voyage.
